Introduction

Carbon materials modified organic composite materials have been widely used in modern society. However, the industrial application of carbon nanotube (CNT), which is also a member of carbon family, has not been achieved even the CNTs posses good performances in mechanics, electricity and optics. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is one of the most incredible thermoplastics because of the resistant to many chemicals and operation in wide temperature range. The combination of carbon materials and PTFE is promising to cater to the higher demands of heat or electricity conductivity, mechanical behavior, electromagnetic shielding and other physical properties. Some commercial carbon black or graphite loaded PTFE composites have been launched, instead of CNT. One of the key issues is the dispersion of CNT in PTFE. Combining the advanced nano-grinding and dispersion technology, the goal of our research is to prepare CNT/PTFE nano-composite and to develop its application.
